Walking two dogs on longer individual leashes is often confusing in everyday life. The leashes easily get tangled, and as they get longer, the risk of wrapping yourself or the dogs in the leashes increases.
The Double Tracking Leash FERNWEH was specifically developed for walking two dogs. It reduces tangling and twisting of the leashes and also allows for walking with just one hand.
The removable handle ensures that the attached leashes can rotate. The carabiner used rotates with it, permanently preventing the dog leashes from twisting.
The woven material makes the handle light and compact, so it can be easily stowed in a bag. Even in damp conditions, the handle remains non-slip and secure in the hand.
Why the double leash FERNWEH makes everyday life clearer
When walking two dogs, leashes often get tangled in everyday life.
The FERNWEH dog leash reduces this twisting thanks to a rotating carabiner in the handle, into which the leashes are hooked.
The plastic sliders allow the total length to be flexibly divided between both dogs. The length distribution can be adjusted situationally without having to reattach the leash.
The removable handle allows the FERNWEH tracking leash to trail on the ground and then be picked up again without getting dirty oneself.
Alternative for strong pulling dogs
If your dogs pull very strongly and also move the adjusters, we recommend the following combinations as an alternative:
- 2 × CHILL dog leashes (1.80 m) + safety handle HABDICH
- 2 × FERNWEH tracking leashes (5 m) + safety handle HABDICH
- 2 × RATZFATZ dog leashes (2.5 m) + climbing carabiner for hooking in + safety handle HABDICH
This way, each dog has a fixed leash length, while both leashes can be comfortably guided with one hand.
Handle & Guidance
The integrated handle is available in 16 mm or 19 mm width depending on the version and is made of woven POP-Band.
The material is soft in the hand, yet non-slip and retains these properties even in wet weather conditions.
In the blue version, the handle is made with a 25 mm width.
Use with the CHILL waist belt:
Place the handle in the D-ring of the waist belt and pass the carabiner through the handle. Then attach the FERNWEH leash to the carabiner of the handle.
This way, the leash can rotate, allowing for hands-free, relaxed guidance.
The same principle can also be applied to our double leash TECHTELMECHTEL.
Material & Workmanship
The FERNWEH double tracking leash is designed and manufactured in Germany. It is available either in original BioThane® or in our POP-Band, which is specially made for our products.
Our BioThane® (USA) is extra thin, very flexible, weatherproof, and ideal for rain, mud, and everyday use. Dirt and moisture can be easily wiped off with water. The material withstands up to 1000 kg centrifugal force.
The POP-Band has a woven look but is firmer and thicker than conventional nylon leashes. It remains dimensionally stable even under stress and lies calmly in the hand.
The workmanship includes chrome-plated leash carabiners (to prevent discoloration and allergic reactions), plastic sliders, and stainless steel screws, which are additionally bonded.
The stainless steel screws ensure a particularly high-quality, understated look.

- 16 mm – for dogs up to approx. 12 kg
- 19 mm – for dogs up to approx. 30 kg
