Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for each 12 kg bag to improve its consistency in our pellets. With the right balance of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and vibrant color, and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has a lower cholesterol and fat content, fewer calories, and is therefore very healthy.

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry support healthy muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide your dog with additional valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. Vegetables, for example, are not only nutritious but also have other health benefits. The fiber in vegetables is good for the gut and can, among other things, promote digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing your dog with all the essential natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for your dog's immune system, for example, but it can also help keep their breath fresh and maintain a healthy digestive system. These natural ingredients promote your dog's overall health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, algae, etc., has a tradition spanning thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are emphasized. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Mudi-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Mudi. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Mudi belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Mudi.

Marigold

The marigold (Calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae). The marigold is a cultivated flower that has long been used for its various medicinal properties. The original Calendula species was probably native to Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now rarely found in the wild. The marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is a wealth of information available about the beneficial effects of calendula. We can add calendula to dog food because it can contribute positively to the prevention of breed-specific ailments affecting the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is particularly good for restoring skin and mucous membranes, and it has anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. It can also prevent cramps during digestion.

Calendula is primarily used as an external remedy, for example for abrasions or skin problems. However, due to its regenerative properties, it can also be used internally.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, from which the hand apples, known primarily in the northern hemisphere, originate. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a multifaceted effect on the digestive tract. It absorbs moisture, making stools soft and pliable. Fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel activity but also ensures the thorough elimination of waste products.

Apples are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They are also rich in pectin, a soluble fiber that supports a healthy gut flora. Furthermore, it enhances the palatability of food, and apples are low in calories.

The banana plant grows in tropical regions where temperatures do not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas were cultivated in New Guinea as early as 7,000 years ago. The name derives from the word Œbanaana in the Wolof language.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. These include vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), as well as the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant vitamin C can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, while magnesium can relax muscles and promote bone growth. Furthermore, bananas contain plenty of fiber and promote a healthy gut microbiome.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose the right food for your Mudi, please refer to the following guidelines. If your Mudi is under 11 months old, choose the puppy variety. For a Mudi older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Mudi Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Advice on shifting gears

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of dog food, we recommend following these steps. First, feed your dog a mixture of 25% Yourdog and 75% of their old food. Allow two days for your dog to adjust. Then, feed a mixture of 50% Yourdog and 50% of their old food. It is important to allow this to ease your dog back into the diet for another two or three days. Next, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of their old food. Your dog is now almost completely accustomed to Yourdog. Continue this process for two days. After that, you can switch to 100% Yourdog. Please note that Yourdog food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food into the tub separately, but to put it in the tub with the whole bag, which should be sealed as tightly as possible.
