Why Yourdog Old German Shepherd
Rich in buffalo and poultry. Specially formulated for old German Shepherds. Contains marigold, carrot and banana. Promotes a healthy, shiny coat. Maintains a healthy intestinal flora. Free from artificial fragrances, colors and flavors. Also suitable for sensitive German Shepherds. Our ingredients
To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried in a 12 kg sack to make it easier to process in our facility. With the right proportions of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and vibrant color, and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very healthy.
poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry support healthy muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide your dog with additional valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. Vegetables, for example, are not only nutritious but also have other health benefits. The fiber in vegetables is good for the gut and can, among other things, promote digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing your dog with all the essential natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for your dog's immune system, for example, but it can also help keep their breath fresh and maintain a healthy digestive system. These natural ingredients promote your dog's overall health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, algae, etc., has a tradition spanning thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are emphasized. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Old German Shepherd-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Old German Shepherd. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Old German Shepherd belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that have an optimal effect on the health and well-being of the German Shepherd.
Marigold
The marigold (Calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae). The marigold is a cultivated flower that has long been used for its various medicinal properties. The original Calendula species was probably native to Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now rarely found in the wild. The marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.
There is a wealth of information available about the beneficial effects of calendula. We can add calendula to dog food because it can contribute positively to the prevention of breed-specific ailments affecting the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is particularly good for restoring skin and mucous membranes, and it has anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. It can also prevent cramps during digestion.
Calendula is primarily used as an external remedy, for example for abrasions or skin problems. However, due to its regenerative properties, it can also be used internally.
root
The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This is essential for building capillaries and maintaining the health of all cells. The fiber in carrots supports a dog's digestion. Furthermore, carrots are low in calories and good for a healthy coat and skin.
At Yourdog, we add carrots to our dog food because they can positively contribute to preventing breed-specific skin and coat problems. They also promote good eyesight and healthy digestion.
banana
The banana plant grows in tropical regions where temperatures do not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas were cultivated in New Guinea as early as 7,000 years ago. The name derives from the word Œbanaana in the Wolof language.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. These include vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), as well as the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant vitamin C can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, while magnesium can relax muscles and promote bone growth. Furthermore, bananas contain plenty of fiber and promote a healthy gut microbiome.
