Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat are dried for each 12 kg bag to improve its processing in our dry food. With the right balance of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and vibrant color, and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very healthy.

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry support healthy muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide your dog with additional valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. Vegetables, for example, are not only nutritious but also have other health benefits. The fiber in vegetables is good for the gut and can, among other things, promote digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing your dog with all the essential natural antioxidants. The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, algae, etc., has a tradition spanning thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are emphasized. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Bobtail-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Bobtail. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Bobtail belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that have an optimal effect on the health and well-being of the Bobtail.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, from which the hand apples, known primarily in the northern hemisphere, originate. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a multifaceted effect on the digestive tract. It absorbs moisture, making stools soft and pliable. Fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel activity but also ensures the thorough elimination of waste products.

Apples are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They are also rich in pectin, a soluble fiber that supports a healthy gut flora. Furthermore, it enhances the palatability of food, and apples are low in calories.

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This is essential for building capillaries and maintaining the health of all cells. The fiber in carrots supports a dog's digestion. Furthermore, carrots are low in calories and good for a healthy coat and skin.

At Yourdog, we add carrots to our dog food because they can positively contribute to preventing breed-specific skin and coat problems. They also promote good eyesight and healthy digestion.

banana

The banana plant grows in tropical regions where temperatures do not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas were cultivated in New Guinea as early as 7,000 years ago. The name derives from the word Œbanaana in the Wolof language.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. These include vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), as well as the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant vitamin C can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, while magnesium can relax muscles and promote bone growth. Furthermore, bananas contain plenty of fiber and promote a healthy gut microbiome.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose the right food for your Bobtail, please refer to the following guidelines. If your Bobtail is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variety. For a Bobtail older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Bobtail Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variety.

Conversion instructions

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of dog food, we recommend the following steps. First, feed your dog a mixture of 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old food. Allow your dog two days to adjust. Then, feed a mixture of 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old food. It is important to allow your dog another two or three days to gradually readjust. Next, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old food. Your dog is now almost completely accustomed to Yourdog. Continue this process for two days. After that, you can switch to 100% Yourdog. Please note that Yourdog food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to add the food to the tub individually, but rather to add the entire bag, which should be sealed as tightly as possible.
